About the Business
Working together are Gill & Laura who with a combined shoemaking experience of over 35 years, personally handcraft each pair of Brodequin shoes to ensure the comfort and quality of the footwear. We both worked for a local shoemaker where we learnt the trade. Then in 2002 we set up our own business trading as Brodequin Shoemakers. We chose the name Brodequin because we felt it was a very distinctive and unusual name.
Shoemaking, by non mass production techniques, is now a rare profession. All our products are handmade using traditional shoemaking techniques and methods. Brodequin Shoemakers is an example of how shoes can be made by hand and still remain affordable.
