About the Business
It all started as a day dream whilst working as a lending manager in a high street bank, a dream of working for myself and selling things I really loved. With no retail or buying experience but a strong 'now or never attitude' I left a perfectly good job to set up my own business and sell shoes! After a year of planning, finding the perfect shop and sourcing our brands, Escape opened in March 2004 in the North East coastal town of Whitley Bay, 10 miles east of Newcastle. Very quickly we saw a huge gap for a ladies boutique that specialised in the 25-30+ market and a year later expanded, taking over the neighbouring shop to create the bigger Escape Boutique as it exists today began.
We've come a long way since then, now considered one of the leading independent boutiques in the north east we have grown an army of loyal followers who return season on season.
