About the Business
Green Shoes Arts is a not-for-profit arts organisation founded in 2009 by four Goldsmiths Graduates. Since then we have worked together with the residents of Barking & Dagenham. We deliver a wide range of innovative, fun and sustainable participatory arts projects in many different art forms including drama, dance, music, film, photography and visual arts.
We work closely with local residents and other local services, including the local authority, to make sure that we provide creative opportunities that our community are interested in.
We created Green Shoes Arts on a strong belief that involvement in the arts makes a genuine difference in people's lives, and in doing so makes a meaningful difference within a community. Current and previous works includes successful youth theatre and dance programmes, visual art, music and drama workshops for adults with mental health issues, and accredited arts programmes within schools and much more.
