Meeks shoes was established in 1901 by my great grandfather Edward Meeks. He ran away from home at the age of 16 with just a shilling in his pocket and boarded a train to Ashton-under-Lyne. Edward managed to get a job as a sales assistant in a shoe shop, in Ashton, and eventually saved enough money to start his own shop, shown below. He became very involved in the local community and was awarded Alderman of the town. less

We currently have 8 members of staff who offer a complete one-to-one service when it comes to children's footwear. Because of our location; there is plenty of parking and you won't feel rushed. Whether your child is 1 or 16, their feet are very important and we want to make sure we get it right. So call in with your child, relax and let us take care of the rest. less
